One of the things I am so incredibly grateful to my alma mater for is the friends I made. I believe friends are the families we choose for ourselves. As my friends have grown and matured, I have had the great privilege of witnessing many incredible life moments, such as weddings and growing families.
I met Mary Christian when I was working as a student chaplain. She is radiant and sweet and kind to all. Mary and I discussed maternity pictures when she was pregnant, but I also knew I badly wanted to document her growing family after the fact, too. When I met Dex, I knew capturing the family dynamic was going to be my mission. Dexter is full of energy. I baby sat him while Mary was in class a few times a week. Se often hung out in the afternoons, when he was grumpy and fighting sleepiness. This made me even more determined to capture his precious smile whenever I could.
Our most recent family session was actually at the same park Mary chose for her maternity pictures, so it was very sweet and sentimental.
Even though I have graduated and am much further away from Mary and her family, I love to visit and take up to date family pictures. They are the sweetest little family and spending time with them brings me so much light and joy.
